You can delete your SplitSol account at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, exactly what is removed, and what happens to expenses you shared with other people.
How to request deletion
- By email (available now). Send a request to support@splitsol.co from the email address on your account. We verify the address and schedule the deletion; no reinstall or sign-in required.
- In the app. Profile → Privacy & Security → Delete account. You confirm with a fresh sign-in, review any outstanding balances, and the same deletion is scheduled.
The 14-day grace period
Deletion is scheduled 14 days after your request, and you are signed out everywhere immediately. If you change your mind, sign back in within those 14 days and cancel. After the 14 days the deletion runs automatically and cannot be undone.
What is permanently deleted
- Your account and sign-in (email, Google account link)
- Your display name and profile photo
- Your device push notification tokens
- Your friend connections and pending invites you sent
- Your preferences and any contact hashes stored for friend search
What is retained, and why
Expenses and settlements you shared with other people are part of their records too: deleting the amounts would silently change other members’ balances. So shared ledger entries are kept but anonymised. Your name and photo are replaced with “Deleted user” everywhere; nothing that remains can identify you.
Deleting your account does not erase debts you owe to other people or that they owe you; those entries simply show as “Deleted user” in their groups.
If you sign up again later
Deletion is final. If you create a new account afterwards, even with the same email address, it starts completely fresh: no groups, friends, balances, or history are restored.
